Hazardous Materials notification and reporting requirements for Fire Department personnel who may witness or discover a Hazardous Materials Leak, spill, or discharge. Meets the requirements of CFR 29 1910.120 and CCR Title 8. Designed for fire prevention personnel, fire inspectors, and department support staff.

Hazardous Materials Operational (FRO)
Hazardous Materials notification and reporting requirements for personnel who may witness, discover or respond to releases of hazardous materials as part of the initial response to the site for the purpose of protecting nearby persons, property, or the environment from the effects of the release, hazardous materials leak, spill, or discharge. Meets the requirements of CFR 29 1910.120 and CCR Title 8.
Hazardous Materials Assistant Safety Officer
This course meets FIRESCOPE’s hazardous materials typing requirements of at least “one company member trained to a minimum of Assistant Safety Officer (ICS-HM-222-5) and shall meet or be equivalent to requirements found in Title 19 CCR 2520(r)”. This class also meets NFPA 472 (2008) Chapter 11 – Competencies for Hazardous Materials Safety Officers.
Hazardous Materials Incident Commander
This course meets FIRESCOPE’s hazardous materials typing requirements of at least “one company member trained to a minimum of Assistant Safety Officer (ICS-HM-222-5) and shall meet or be equivalent to requirements found in Title 19 CCR 2520(r)”. This class also meets NFPA 472 (2008) Chapter 11 – Competencies for Hazardous Materials Safety Officers.
