Fireline Safety Awareness for the Hired Vendor
Our company has recently become an approved training center for the new
Fireline Safety Awareness for Hired Vendors Course that was authorized
by the California State Fire Marshal in 2011.
This eight (8) hour course is required for all Hired Vendors working with the
USFS or CAL FIRE on any active wildland fire assignment. This includes
water tender operators, heavy equipment with water operators (Skidgine),
dozer operators, crew bus drivers, vehicle drivers, mechanics, fallers,
swampers and chain saw operators.
This course provides an awareness of fireline safety to hired vendors who plan to engage in wildland fire suppression and other incident support activities.
Topics include current safety training, relevant policy and procedures, how to recognize and mitigate risk, and maintain safe and effective practices while
working under agency supervision on an incident.
Upon successful completion of training, participants will receive a course
completion card valid for one (1) year from date of issue.
